Tita Global Space Academy (TGSA) has been selected to join ESA BIC Sweden, effective February 1, 2026. The program, managed by Arctic Business and co-funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) and Vinnova, will accelerate TGSA's mission to address Europe's critical shortage of operational human spaceflight expertise.
As Lunar Gateway, Artemis missions and commercial space stations move from concept to reality, demand for professionals trained in life support systems, space resources utilization, space manufacturing, autonomous navigation and space medicine is outpacing supply. Current training options are fragmented, largely US-based, and insufficient to meet Europe's workforce needs.
"Europe historically focused on robotic missions without indigenous crewed launch capability, so systematic training in human spaceflight operations never developed here," says Shorena Tsindeliani, Founder and CEO of TGSA. "As Gateway, Artemis and commercial partnerships advance, that gap has become critical."
TGSA's courses are taught by mission practitioners who designed life support systems, led autonomous docking operations, lived through long-duration missions, developed resource extraction technologies for lunar and Mars missions. Their operational expertise from space agencies and commercial spaceflight programs is converted into executive training that prepares space workforce for Gateway, Artemis and commercial space stations - with direct applications to terrestrial sectors. The first course, Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS), launches in late 2026, followed by courses in In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU), space medicine, microgravity manufacturing and autonomous navigation in crewed systems.
Through ESA BIC Sweden, TGSA gains technical expertise from ESA and European space industry partners, business development support, industry networks and initial funding to develop its platform across Europe.
ABOUT ESA BIC SWEDEN
ESA BIC Sweden, managed by Arctic Business in Luleå and co-funded by the European Space Agency and Vinnova, supports startups developing space technologies and space-derived applications. The program provides technical expertise, business support and funding to help companies commercialize innovations and strengthen Europe's space economy.
ABOUT TITA GLOBAL SPACE ACADEMY
